Marin County Emergency Operations Facility

Project details
- 315,000 s.f. Office Building
Sares Regis negotiated and completed the sale of 1600 Los Gamos Drive, at the Marin Commons office complex owned by CIGNA Real Estate, to the County of Marin for its new Emergency Operations Facility. The sale included 24 acres of the 35-acre site. The County leased the property back to Sares Regis in a public-private partnership, and Sares Regis managed the $50 million conversion of the building to Essential Service Criteria for the County as well as overseeing the leasing of the unoccupied space. The rehab involved structural upgrades to meet seismic requirements, installing advanced radio equipment, a data center and server technologies, and an interior redesign with new furnishings. Three major tenants continue to occupy approximately 55,000 s.f. of the building; the County’s new EOF occupies approximately 100,000 s.f. and an additional 80,000 s.f. was used to relocate other County offices to the building. Another 80,000 s.f. is for other tenants. Sares Regis continues to provide property management services.
