Hired initially by the City of Redwood City to study alternative sites for the correctional center outside of its downtown district. After identifying this 4.75-acre site, Sares Regis negotiated the purchase of four parcels, several tenant lease amendments for relocation, and business terms between the City and County on cost allocation for the due diligence and land purchase costs. Sares Regis was subsequently chosen as Construction Liaison to the County Sheriff’s Jail Planning Unit to develop the new correctional center. Sares Regis secured discretionary approvals in 75 days, along with Regional Water Quality Control Board approval for the Risk Management Plan. Achieved LEED Gold and the 2016 Silicon Valley Business Journal Structure Award for Best Public/Civic Project.
