The Martin

Sunnyvale, California

One of the tallest residential buildings between San Francisco and San Jose

12-story concrete building with 2 levels of subgrade parking

479 premium apartments (53 affordable apartments)

28,000 sq. ft. of retail

The Martin is the third and tallest residential phase of Cityline, a 36-acre mixed-use addition to downtown Sunnyvale entitled by Sares Regis in 2020.  When delivered, the Martin will be one of the tallest residential buildings between San Francisco and San Jose.  The Type I building will offer best-in-class views, finishes, and access for its residents and is being constructed in conjunction with Redwood Square, a new community plaza that incorporates a series of 100-year-old redwood trees.  The project also extends historic Murphy Avenue through the site and adds to Cityline’s other pedestrian-oriented retail.

The Martin is part of Sares Regis’s commitment to built out Cityline as the centerpiece of a transformed downtown Sunnyvale that supports a vibrant mix of uses, puts residents and workers near transit, and contributes to downtown’s sense of place.  During the entitlement process, Sares Regis worked closely with elected officials, downtown retail associations, key stakeholder groups, and neighbors to build support for the project, which includes more housing and a taller building height than was previously allowed by zoning.

Construction on the Martin broke ground in 2022.
