West Channel Levee Improvement

Sunnyvale, California

1,100-Linear-Foot Channel and Levee Enhancement

Completed 2023

This public/private partnership features 1,100 linear feet of channel and levee enhancement to an existing flood-control channel, including greater flood protection, pedestrian bridges, habitat mitigation, and integration with the surrounding development project to provide public access pathways connecting to the Bay Trail on the north and Moffett Park to the south. The channel was approximately 50 feet wide with levees at an elevation of 11 feet, and the new channel is approximately 250 feet at its widest point with levees at an elevation of 18.14 feet. This project was unique because Sares Regis helped facilitate a successful relationship between our Client and Santa Clara Valley Water District (SCVWD). Both Client and SCVWD benefited from this Project, which will be the foundation of many more successful projects.
